Hair Loss
Hair loss is often an unwelcome sign of aging, affecting both men and women who naturally desire to maintain a youthful appearance and feel good about themselves.
While less common in women, hair loss can significantly impact self-esteem and confidence, and its prevalence is greater than commonly perceived. Female pattern hair loss, also known as androgenic alopecia, accounts for a significant portion of hair loss in women, with up to 50% being affected by genetic factors at some point in their lives.
Various factors contribute to hair loss, including hormonal imbalances or changes, dietary deficiencies, stress, illnesses, as well as hair styling and chemical treatments.
Hair restoration aims to regrow hair in areas of thinning or baldness, providing permanent solutions and extending the lifespan of existing hair. Evaluating the patient’s hair follicles, density, color, texture, quality, caliber (diameter), and existing hairline is crucial in determining the appropriate course of action.
How It Is Done
This therapy operates by activating the existing stem cells present on the scalp and replenishing them with new stem cells. Mesenchymal stem cells play a vital role in repairing and regenerating the hair follicle papilla.
The procedure involves mini-liposuction, typically extracting around 50 mL of fat tissue from the lower abdomen or belly under local anesthesia. Mesenchymal stem cells are then isolated from the adipose tissues. These cells, along with isolated fat particles and growth factors, are injected into the dermis of the scalp after cleansing and dermabrasion.
In some cases, multiple injections of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), containing growth factors and stem cells from blood, may suffice, eliminating the need for liposuction. Only 20 to 50 ml of blood is drawn using a syringe for this purpose.
Furthermore, we advocate the use of proven medical therapies such as minoxidil, DHT blockers, Low-Level Laser Light Therapy (LLLT), and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) as adjuvants to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment.
What To Expect
Repair and Strengthening of Existing Follicles:
This therapy works to rejuvenate and fortify the existing hair follicles, enhancing their health and resilience. Through targeted treatments and regenerative techniques, damaged follicles are revitalized, leading to improved hair quality and longevity.
Formation of New Follicles:
By stimulating the scalp and promoting cellular regeneration, this therapy encourages the development of new hair follicles. Through the activation of dormant stem cells and the provision of essential nutrients, the scalp undergoes a rejuvenation process, fostering the growth of fresh follicles.
Enhanced Hair Growth:
Through its regenerative mechanisms, this therapy accelerates the natural hair growth cycle, resulting in visibly improved hair growth. By addressing underlying factors contributing to hair loss and promoting optimal scalp health, individuals experience a noticeable increase in the rate and thickness of hair growth.
Improvement in Overall Hair Volume:
As a cumulative effect of repaired follicles, new follicle formation, and enhanced hair growth, individuals undergoing this therapy typically observe a significant improvement in the overall volume of their hair. Thicker, denser hair strands contribute to a fuller and more voluminous appearance, restoring confidence and satisfaction with one’s hair.
