FACE REJUVENATION

Face Rejuvenation

Aging:

The face is the centre point of a more youthful appearance. Balanced, fresh and alive, the face tends to be the first item addressed in facial cosmetic appearance.

As part of the natural aging process, the skin and muscles of the lower face and neck lose elasticity, resulting in jowls and a poor neck contour. There is also puffiness associated with parts of the aging face.

The deep wrinkles of the skin are most apparent in the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellas frown lines), at the outer corners of the eyes (“crow’s feet”), and at the junction between the upper lip and cheek (naso-labial folds). Finer wrinkles and etching of the skin are seen throughout the face.

The skin can also age prematurely as a result of prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun (called extrinsic ageing or photo-aging).

Alternative rejuvenation procedures use your own fat and stem cells from your blood wherever there is a loss of volume in the face to augment the sagging, hollow appearance, thus restoring a more youthful appearance without the need for a facelift and fillers.

How it is done

Mild cases need only PRP

Most of the times only PRP (platelet rich plasma) enriched with growth factors and stem cells is sufficient to rejuvenate the skin in young age group.

Moderate to severe cases need stem cell assisted micro or nano fat transfer

Under local anaesthesia, an adequate amount of fat is aspirated (belly, thigh) and out of this 100 cc of fat is processed to isolate ADSCs. Remaining fat is processed to make micro fat or nano fat particles.

A specially designed injection cannula is used to transfer both ADSCs and micro /nano fat particles to the face usually done with very thin needle.

The injection process is called as “weaving” or “layering”. Unlike collagen, which is injected into the dermis (the skin’s superficial layer), fat is injected subcutaneously (under the skin).

No bandages or other wrapping is required afterwards. The entire procedure usually takes one hour. Normal activities can resume the day after injections. One may experience a slight pressure to the forehead or face.

The amount of fat injected depends on the area to fill out any hollow space or to assist in removing lines and wrinkles.

Recovery time ranges from 2-4 weeks depending on factors such as your age, the condition of your skin, and how well you respond the treatment.
